What do you think of small groups?  Should churches have small group ministries?  Why or why not?  Here’s what one pastor said:

As a pastor, my goal is not to get everyone in my church in a small group. My goal is to get those who need one into one. But, for those who are already in an unofficial relational small group my goal is to help them think intentionally about that group and help them to grow that group forward in helping them live as followers of Jesus together.

Would you agree?  And in your opinion, how well do followers of Jesus in the overall church seek out relationships that challenge them in their thinking and growth?  Is this a role small groups can play?  And do you think small groups can be over-promoted as the answer to spiritual growth?
